Congratulations to Republican Senate Candidate Mike Parry, who won the special election today for the Minnesota State Senate Seat formerly held by Dick Day (R - Owatonna).

Senate District 26 includes the ciities of Waseca, Faribault and Owatonna. Parry won a 3-way race with over 43 percent of the vote. The Secretary of State's website has the full results.
Democrats might try to spin their loss by saying that SD 26 is a Republican Seat.
However, the fact that both Minnesota House Seats are held by Democrats, and the district is represented by Congressman Tim Walz, a Democrat, suggests that it is a swing district. The people are speaking out by putting their trust in Republicans to restore fiscal sanity to our government. |
